Taiye Machinery’s management team, together with a group of engineers, visited India for inspection and technical training at extrusion die manufacturing plants. During this visit, we toured a representative extrusion die factory, which left a deep impression on us and provided Taiye Machinery with a more direct and comprehensive understanding of the current development status, characteristics, and market potential of the Indian extrusion die industry.

Banco’s die manufacturing plant is located in the Vadodara Industrial Park in India and occupies a relatively large area. The overall layout is well organized, with clearly defined production areas, storage areas, and office facilities. Banco is a well-known mold manufacturer in India. Upon entering the plant, we observed that the CNC machine tools in the production workshop were neatly arranged, with wide aisles allowing smooth material flow. From the on-site conditions, it is evident that the factory has a solid foundation in basic management and safety standards. Operating procedures are relatively standardized, and labor protection measures are properly implemented.

In terms of equipment configuration, Banco utilizes vertical machining centers, CNC milling machines, EDM machines, as well as some conventional machining equipment. In addition, the company has recently purchased Taiye’s 5-axis machining center for extrusion die manufacturing. Although the overall level of automation still lags behind that of leading domestic extrusion die factories in China, the equipment is highly practical and capable of meeting the requirements of conventional die manufacturing. Notably, the factory invests considerable effort in extrusion die assembly and debugging. The assembly stations are finely divided, and the workers are highly experienced, reflecting the Indian mold industry’s characteristic emphasis on manual skills and craftsmanship.

During discussions, the factory management provided a detailed introduction to their main customer base and market orientation. The factory primarily serves domestic automotive parts, home appliance, and consumer goods manufacturers, while also undertaking a portion of export orders. According to the management, in recent years, driven by the growth of India’s manufacturing sector and the transfer of international orders, demand for extrusion dies has continued to increase. This trend has prompted the company to expand production capacity and enhance machining capabilities, leading to a simultaneous rise in demand for CNC machine tools.

From a personnel perspective, the factory’s technical staff possess solid capabilities in design and process planning. However, there remains room for improvement in areas such as precision extrusion die design, standardized management, and high-end manufacturing. These challenges are common across the Indian extrusion die industry, but they also indicate significant growth potential in the future.

Through this visit, we not only deepened our understanding of the production models and management practices of Indian extrusion die factories, but also gained insight into the differences between Chinese and Indian manufacturing industries in terms of technology, efficiency, and cost structures. This inspection has provided valuable reference for future cooperation in extrusion die manufacturing, CNC machine tool procurement, and technical collaboration, laying a solid foundation for further expansion of international partnerships
